Every day Life
If you’ve moved recently, you might know what all of these things have in common. Please let me explain.
On our last day of cleaning out our old home, we took a break on the back porch for a nice breather. When we opened the back door, there was a praying mantis on the middle of the door frame trying to get in to the house. I was doing what I could to not hurt it and to get it outside, but it was very persistent, it wanted to get in. With the three of us working together, we finally managed to get it out of the house without hurting it. Once outside, we gathered around what looked like a wavering leaf. We watched the mantis while it became brave enough to move a couple inches forward. Its gaze seemed to follow my daughter as she moved from side to side. Which kinda creeped me out, but I was still in a great mood all because of this sighting. We watched it as it watched us. I don’t know why but we were pleasantly energized by the find. We gave it a leaf…silly I know because I’m pretty sure it eats bugs. I think we just wanted to make it feel good and to stay as long as possible.
I hadn’t seen a mantis in atleast 10 years, so this really meant something to me. Looking up their symbolism on the web, some said the mantis meant; being brave, there were new things to come, go slow, to try to be more patient and good fortune. Throughout all of the research, and all of the processing of the sighting, I feel the mantis symbol meant TO US, that good luck was coming, to be mindful and patient, work together and good things will happen, and that this move was a positive thing for us…it can work – we can work! Here are a couple of the links I found on praying mantis symbolism:
silly bit of information on the praying mantis: the word for the mantis in Afrikaans is Hottentotsgod ("god of the Khoi"). The mantis was considered a god in southern African Khoi and San tradition, for its praying posture
New Life as a spy:
I am now a secret agent, a spy, a person non grata for foreign lands. If you ever find yourself in trouble where you need to disappear, or don’t want the authorities to find you, I urge you to either move yourself or help a friend move. Because with every box you close, with every box you tape, a little bit of your fingerprints will be taken off. ..no fingerprints = NEW LIFE!!!
Are your lights going on and off?
I need to ask if you’ve experienced any lights going on and off?....your garage door lifting up or down?....an occasional appliance going on or off unexplained?.....don’t worry too much, it’s not a ghost or any kind of haunting… it’s ME!!! You see I’ve got 3 or 4 different switches through out my new home where I have no idea of what they control. No matter what I do, no matter what I plug in, they just don’t control a thing. So, I’ve concluded that somewhere, some how, my extra switches turn on a light or open a gate to some other place in this wonderful wacky world. So if any weird lights are flickering in or around your home and you live in the North East area….please let me know soon….And I will make sure I don’t frighten you when I accidentally flip the switch and turn your hair dryer on.
MARCO calls out my husband on the other side of the 10 foot wall of boxes, POLO I called back looking around the room feeling a bit overwhelmed from all of the shtuff. A few minutes later, MARCO I called out from one side of the obstacle course we now called home. POLO called back my daughter with my husband, from two rooms over. I knew they were in the house, I just couldn’t find them anywhere….yes, I have a lot of shtuff. No, I don’t know what I’m going to do with it all…with that in mind, our game of Marco Polo helped in more ways than one. I felt a lightness when I heard my daughters and husbands voice calling out to me, making a game of this obvious stressful situation is what my family does best. Maybe someday we will get this place looking like a home. When it’s all done, come over for tea, chips and candy, you’re all invited!!!
